Title: ... p114 - Des Drummond comments/memories by Peter Birrell, Leigh

I could talk for hours about Des Drummond and, as pointed out on this site, Des played for leigh for eleven years, having a testimonial, before leaving for Warrington to become another legend!

The first time I remember seeing Des was, against Blackpool Borough at Hilton Park Leigh.

Des, wasn't very big in stature and Blackpool loose forward, Corcoran, decided he was going to get the ball and run down the touchline,straight through this 'weedy' little winger!

Boy did he get a surprise, Des just launched himself at Corcoran who finnished on his backside on the floor in total shock!

the funnyest sight however, was John Woods down on one knee in hysterical laughter.
