OUR TRY'N MIGHTY
Published on 22/11/2005
Cumberland has always been a rich source of forwards and no
fewer than 17 of the county's 25 post-war test and tour players
have been packmen. Front-rowers have been particularly abundant
and include mighty props such as Hull's Workington-born DRAKE
twins, Jim and Bill, who were capped against France in 1960
and 1962 respectively, although Bill was better known as a fine,
quick ball-handling second-rower.
Iron-hard Jim was one of those players who it was advisable
not to provoke!
