Played for Great Britain, Wigan, Blackpool Borough,
Where is he now?
Billy
Boston lives at Hawkley Hall Wigan,
he is now retired. He was the landlord
of the Griffin pub in Wigan which had
become a mecca to RL supporters in Wigan
and visiting supporters. He is a regular
at the JJB stadium and can be often
seen in the West stand with the dignitaries,
though it isn't really Billies style.
He has time for anyone and everyone
and always has a great tale to tell
and opinions and about modern players.
If you want to wind him up ask his opinion

Billy Boston Player Profile
Boston had the honour of being the first black rugby league man to represent Great Britain in a tour 'down under'. He was the first of many great coloured players to pull on the GB jersey.
He started his professional career with Wigan in 1953.
Boston made 31 tests appearances scoring 24 test match tries. He was a point scoring machine for Wigan, twice scoring 7 tries in a match. He made 6 appearances at Wembley, winning three. He went on to play for Wigan for 15 years, amassing an amazing 478tries. He played two more years with the Blackpool Borough side. In first class matches he scored 571, the most by any British player, and only bettered by Brian Bevan, the brilliant aussie flanker who played out his career in the UK.
