One of the fastest players ever to strap on boots. Irvine was a tryscoring machine for every side he ran out for. He as a professional runner equalled the then world record of 9.3 seconds for 100 yards.
Irvine played 31 tests, from 1959 to 1970. He scored 300 tries in 340 matches, 33 in test.He played in Manly's 1st and 2nd Grand Final (Bloody Bob Fulton) victories.
But his career is best remembered for his kick form the sideline in the 1962 test match. (See memorable matches.).

Ken Irvine is one of the greatest footballers in Australian Rugby League history. He died in late 1990 at the young age of 50 after a long and courageous battle against Leukaemia. Here's a tribute done to him in 1991 from Channel 10. Irvine still holds the record for most tries in premiership football and most tries for Australia in Test matches.
