Ron Coote Player Profile
Coote was simply brilliant. He was the perfect player to take over the lock position from the immortal Johnny Raper.
Coote is remembered for his brilliant cover defence, which often saved games for his country, and his beloved South Sydney. Coote finished his illustrious career with the roosters. Coote was a member of four winning souths teams and won two GF's with Easts.
Coote also captained his country - see Memorable Matches No13.
